An Actress in Wonderland
Aleksander Krzyzanowski & Bartosz Dziedzic
Since its publication "Alices's Adventures in Wonderland" has been a source of inspiration for artists all over the world. "This is a child. We only found it to-day. It's as large as life and twice as natural" – states the Unicorn. As Carroll himself put it: "A strange child who gets its fill in play pretend." And 92-year-old Barbara Krafftówna, a Polish theatre and film actress, could be considered one of Alice's incarnations. In 1962 Krafftówna created one of the greatest cinematic female portraits of all times in "How to Be Loved" by Wojciech Jerzy Has, a film nominated for Palme D'Or in Cannes. For her role Krafftówna was awarded the Golden Gate at the San Francisco Film Festival.
