La Memorias de los Negativos is a film about Alberto (Chino) Arcos, and his relationship to photography during the Special Period in Cuba. Suffering from a severe lack of resources, Chino was unable to print during the 90’s. As a result, he found himself deeply changed by the pain and hardship of the era. However, Chino’s love for photography never falters through Cuba’s tumultuous political history, and instead, allows him to define his Cuban identity through his art.
